One might consider, when thinking how it might feel to be filthy rich, what that book I speak of here says concerning wealth. It is amazing how money, and lots of it, calls us in a voice sultry and sweet, a bit, or a lot, sexy and with a glamour about it that is unmistakable. Silky and clingy in all the right places. Alluring as a cold drink of water in the hottest desert.
Yet, it would seem that those in the know, and not necessarily from Earth’s neck of the woods, look at it; money, that is.
Have you heard or read the story in that book about the prince who wanted to to follow my hero? A person, my hero, who didn’t come from here originally but volunteered to come here to help us in our search for truth. Oh, c’mon, you know the name, so just say it out loud.
The prince asked this wonderful individual how he could follow him. Our kindly person told the prince to give all he had to the poor and come and follow him. The prince, flummoxed by so blunt an answer, refused to give up all he had to follow this magnificent personage.
Money is not everything but it is close to nothing when it comes to eternity. Eternity is rather a nebulous object in our simple minds but it is there for us to consider nonetheless. Eternity is a very long time so it is not something we are naturally geared to encompass in our minds. These times, however, are good times to begin considering eternity and what we can do to attain eternity. After all, it is but one death away from us. Contemplation is such a bother though. Give your mind a good stretch and see how much more comfortable you feel. Eternity awaits.
Why in this hurried world did we come up with the two words: eternity and infinity? This bears some contemplation also as we have no salient understanding of what these two words actually encompass. To consider these will take us down a different road, though. Consider packing a lunch.
